Electrical Wholesaler of the Year

For the second year running Gil-lec have been voted into the final of UK Electrical Wholesaler of the Year.

This year's entry was based on our Internet Sales unit, so we really do have to say a very big thankyou to you! - our web customers! for giving us the opportunity to shine.

When establishing our e-commerce site and internet sales warehouse we considered it not just important but absolutely vital and fundamental to focus on customer satisfaction...... and not because this was the way to increase turnover, but because providing a memorable, easy, top drawer buying experience is a cool thing to do!

We therefore developed a set of non-financial related measures in order to assess our performance. These include order accuracy, 24 hour order fulfillment, stock accuracy of our warehouse and repeat business percentage. Our 24 hour order fulfillment figures have risen from 69% in February to 91% in September.... This means 91% of all our customers received their orders the day after ordering them. Order accuracy in September was 99.81% and has only ever once fallen below 99%.

We believe it is this customer centric approach that convinced the judges to vote for us for a second year. Appearing with us, the only other finalist in the category, is Moss Electrical, whom coincidentally are fellow members of our buying group Fegime UK.

With 22 year's experience in electrical wholesaling, Gil-lec have a very wide customer base catering for the electrical requirements of industrial contractors, domestic electricians, housing developers, intelligent systems installers, lighting retailers, education trusts, local councils, hardware stores, garden centres and home owners like my mate Paul who is renovating his pad in London.

The winner of UK Electrical Wholesaler of the Year will be announced on October 29th 2008.
