Newsround - What's been going on this week?

It's been another busy week on www.gil-lec.co.uk with lots of new products and some entirely new ranges, but first we bring you news of an important new development that will benefit all Gil-lec's customers.

New Delivery Service

After experiencing less than satisfactory service from its previous carrier, Gil-lec have this week moved 99% of its parcel deliveries to Parcelforce. "We hope to see a dramatic improvement in our delivery fulfillment, but we also felt that Parcelforce offer a better all round service", said a Gil-lec spokesperson. "For example, Parcelforce offer an automated dispatch email, which not only tells our customers that their consignment is on its way, but also gives them tracking ability." He went on to say "With Parcelforce we have excellent reporting abilities that show us in a snapshot what hasn't been delivered and the reason why. Allowing us to manage much more efficiently our customers' expectations allows us ultimately to provide a better service.

New Dar Products

Inspired by Dar's new Spring 2008 collection Gil-lec this week added nearly fifty new lines to its online offering. Whilst all eye catching in their own way, perhaps most exciting of all are the Isengard, Eternity and Excelsior families, which you can visit by following the links below:

New Range of Low Energy Light Fittings

Impressed by the affordability of their range of low energy downlights, Fozz Low Energy Lighting have become Gil-lec's latest supplier partner. In the coming year Fozz, in conjunction with Megaman Low Energy Lamps, will be working together to help raise awareness of the low energy lighting offering. With the price of low energy light fittings coming down dramatically, at the same time as aesthetics improving dramatically, there really is now little reason why the UK should not start the switch to low energy.

.. .And Finally  .......... New Biscuits at the Web Branch

Having witnessed the dispatching of a few thousand chocolate Hobnobs in the last couple of months, it was surprising to see, this week, a packet of Hobnob Originals in the sales office. Viewed, in all honesty with some contempt by some to start with, a buzz soon whirled around the building as it was realised that the Originals (which apparently are full of 'Nobbly Goodness') are actually more tasty than their flirty chocolate cousins. Unfortunately they do tend to crumble a bit more: "They're perhaps about 20% more crumbly" said one sales member. It is still not known where the Originals came from.

Have a nice weekend from the Gil-lec Web Team.
