Incandescent Lamps Turned Off Forever

The Uk is set to be the first EU country to phase out electric lightbulbs, with a deadline set at 2011. Chancellorprimerminister Gordon Brown claims this will take £30 off the average electricity bill and reduce UK carbon emissions by 1.2million tonnes. Sales of energy saving lamps are steadily rising as manufacturers address the aesthetic problems which energy saving lamps have suffered from in the past. With new designs in 45mm round, candles and ambience, the choice is growing, giving designers and homeowners alike, a relaistic alternatice to incandescent lamps.
